NCAA Game Summary - Oregon State At Texas Tech

Lubbock, TX -- (Sports Network) - David Tairu scored a game0high 19 points as the Texas Tech Red Raiders registered a 64-60 win over the Oregon State Beavers as part of the Duel in the Desert at United Spirit Arena. Also scoring in double figures for the Red Raiders (3-0) was Mike Singletary who accounted for 15 points on 5-of-8 shooting from the floor. The Beavers (1-2) were paced by Seth Tarver with 17 points and seven rebounds, followed by Joe Burton with his 15 points and nine boards, while Roeland Schaftenaar chipped in 13 points in the losing effort. OSU made a mere seven field goals in the first half, converting just 1-of-5 behind the three-point line, allowing Tech to post a 30-24 advantage at the break. In the second half the Beavers fought back with 57.1 percent shooting from the floor, but the visitors were unable to complete the comeback bid and bowed by four points. Oregon State won the battle of the boards, 35-23, but the squad could not overcome 20 turnovers, which Tech traded in for 26 points.
