NCAA Game Summary - Tennessee-Martin At Missouri

Columbia, MO -- (Sports Network) - Laurence Bowers scored 16 points and grabbed eight rebounds as the Missouri Tigers defeated the Tennessee-Martin Skyhawks, 83-68, in a non-conference tussle at Mizzou Arena. Keith Ramsey added 15 points for Missouri (1-0), while Marcus Denmon contributed 10 points and six rebounds off the bench. Benzor Simmons was the only player in double-figures for Tennessee-Martin (0-2), as the guard scored 30 points, while also collecting 10 rebounds. However, Simmons also committed a team-high seven turnovers in the setback. The Tigers shot 50.0 percent from the field in the first half and went into the break with a commanding, 50-33 advantage. Missouri used a strong defensive effort in the second stanza, holding UT- Martin to just 37.5 percent shooting from the floor, en route to the 15-point win. The Tigers won the battle on the glass by a 48-33 margin.
