NCAA Game Summary - Lafayette Vs. Notre Dame

(Sports Network) - Russell Carter scored a game-high 20 points to lead the Notre Dame Fighting Irish to a 92-60 victory over the Lafayette Leopards in the consolation round of the NIT Season Tip-Off.

Carter shot 8-of-12 from the field and led the team with four steals for the Fighting Irish (2-1). Luke Harangody recorded his third straight game in double figures, as he had 18 points. Rob Kurz added 16 points of his own, and Tory Jackson chipped in with 10 points in the win.

As for the Leopards (1-2), Matt Betley shot 4-of-7 from the floor, as he scored a team-high 10 points in the loss.

Notre Dame shot 7-of-14 from beyond the arc in the first half, as they took a 46-30 lead at halftime.

In the second half, Lafayette shot a sub par 38.1 percent from the field and the Fighting Irish shot a scorching 72.0 percent, as Notre Dame claimed the 32-point win.

The Leopards didn't record an offensive rebound or a point off of a turnover until the Irish' reserves were brought in late in the game.
