Ames, IA -- (Sports Network) - Craig Brackins scored 17 points to lead the Iowa State Cyclones to an 88-68 victory over the Idaho State Bengals in a non- league affair at the Hilton Coliseum.

LaRon Dendy added 16 points and seven rebounds off the bench for Iowa State (1-0), while Marquis Gilstrap and Scott Christopherson contributed 13 and 10 points, respectively, in the win.

Broderick Gilchrest netted 21 points for Idaho State (0-1), while Amorrow Morgan chipped in 15 points in the loss.

The Cyclones held Idaho State to a mere 33.3 percent shooting effort from the field in the first half and went into the break with a 44-24 lead.

Iowa State shot a sizzling 58.1 percent from the floor in the final 20 minutes of action en route to the 20-point victory.

Iowa State's bench scored 40 points in the contest, while Idaho State's reserves posted just 19 points.
