NCAA Game Summary - Middle Tennessee Vs. Florida Atlantic

Fats Cuyler poured in 23 points to lead the Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders to a 90-76 win over the Florida Atlantic Owls in the consolation game of the Billy Minardi Classic from Freedom Hall.

Adam Vogelsberg and Brian Lake added 19 and 17 points, respectively, for Middle Tennessee (6-3). Tim Blue contributed 12 points and six rebounds in the win, while Cuyler dished out a game-high eight assists.

Florida Atlantic (3-5) was paced by Rodney Webb and DeAndre Rice, who each tallied 17 points. Derrick Simmons chipped in another 12 points for the Owls, who suffered their third consecutive loss.

Middle Tennessee shot a blistering 64 percent from the field in the first half, including 63.6 percent (7-of-11) from beyond the arc, to earn a 43-34 advantage at the intermission.

The Blue Raiders shot the ball even better in the second half, allowing them to hold off a Florida Atlantic team that shot a solid 50.8 percent from the floor for the game.

Middle Tennessee, however, finished at 65.3 percent from the field and 13- of-20 (65 percent) from three-point range to secure the 14-point win.

The Blue Raiders were guilty of 18 turnovers in the contest, but hard work on the glass yielded a 32-20 rebounding edge.
