Hot Springs, AR -- (Sports Network) - Shane Edwards scored 21 points to lead the second-seeded Arkansas-Little Rock Trojans to a 58-55 victory over the seventh-seeded Denver Pioneers in quarterfinal action of the Sun Belt Conference Tournament at Summit Arena. Edwards also collected eight rebounds and dished out five assists for Arkansas-Little Rock (23-7), while Mike Smith contributed 11 points off the bench. Rob Lewis poured in 27 points for Denver (15-16), while Nate Rohnert tallied 11 points, to go along with eight assists. The Pioneers went into the intermission with a 37-26 edge, thanks to a 50.0 percent shooting effort in the first half and a 12-of-13 showing from the charity stripe. The Trojans stormed back however, netting a sizzling 56.5 percent of their attempts from the floor, en route to the three-point win. Arkansas-Little Rock dominated the play on the glass, outrebounding Denver 30-19, and that includes an 11-2 difference at the offensive end of the court. The Trojans will now move into the Semifinal Round where they will take on the South Alabama Jaguars on Monday night.
