GAME NOTES: The regular season draws to a close for the Colorado State Rams tonight as they face off against the San Diego State Aztecs in a Mountain West Conference showdown at Cox Arena. CSU, which is second from the bottom in the MWC standings with record of 4-11, has won just two true road games this season and one of those came against Air Force which enters this week winless in conference play and suffering from a 15-game losing streak. The Rams closed out the month of February with an 81-79 double-overtime setback versus New Mexico at home, the team's second straight loss and the fifth in the last six games overall. As for the Aztecs, they were supposed to vie for the top spot in the conference this season, but they've fallen off the pace and entered the week in fourth place in the MWC at 9-5. SDSU snapped a two-game slide on Saturday by slipping by TCU in overtime in Fort Worth, 79-77, drawing the team one step closer to another 20-win season. The Rams lead the all-time series by a count of 35-27, although it was SDSU that posted a lopsided 78-59 win in the first meeting of the season on January 31st at Moby Arena.

Marcus Walker tallied a hefty 33 points, shooting 12-of-26 from the field and 8-of-11 at the charity stripe on Saturday, but having to play a pair of overtime periods did not help the Rams as they fell by two points at home versus the Lobos. Not to knock Walker, but had he made better than 1-of-6 behind the three-point line and not turned the ball over six times the outcome could have easily gone in CSU's favor. Harvey Perry recorded a double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds, followed by Andre McFarland with 11 points in the losing effort. Walker, who began the season coming off the bench and is now a regular in the starting lineup, leads the program in scoring with 16.7 ppg, followed by Andy Ogide with 10.3 ppg. Ogide is the leader on the glass for the Rams with his 5.9 rpg, having started all 28 games in which he has appeared for the program. With 19 blocked shots Ogide heads that list as well, but the team had a total of just 70 rejections on the campaign.

Richie Williams logged the first double-double of his career the last time out for the Aztecs, posting 14 points and a career-best 11 rebounds as he helped the team slip past TCU in overtime at Daniel-Meyer Coliseum. Making all 10 of his free-throw attempts, Kyle Spain dropped in a team-best 18 points, followed by D.J. Gay and Lorrenzo Wade with 13 and 12 points, respectively. Spain has maintained his place atop the scoring list for the Aztecs with his 14.6 ppg, but Wade is not far behind with his 14.0 ppg. Spain has done damage both behind the three-point line where he is 41.5 percent accurate and at the free- throw line where he has made good on 115-of-133 (.865). Forcing defenses to figure out their schemes a bit more, Spain is also the top rebounder for the program with 5.2 rpg, which means he can float inside and out with the best of them in the Mountain West. Because of his flexibility, SDSU is able to outscore opponents by almost eight points per game this season.

Colorado State's performances on the road has given its fans little to cheer about and with so much riding on this and the final game of the regular season for the Aztecs, the home team can't afford to let CSU slip by tonight.
