NCAA Game Summary - New Mexico At Colorado State

(Sports Network) - Chad Toppert hit 5-of-11 shot from beyond the arc and posted 19 points to lead the New Mexico Lobos to an 81-79 double- overtime victory over the Colorado State Rams in Mountain West Conference action at Moby Arena.

Dairese Gary scored 18 points and dished out eight assists for the Lobos (19-10, 10-4 MWC). Roman Martinez netted 13 points with 13 rebounds, while Tony Danridge dropped in 12 points with six boards in the win.

Marcus Walker tallied a game-high 33 points for the Rams (9-20, 4-11). Harvey Perry chalked up 13 points with 10 rebounds, and Andre McFarland contributed with 11 points and five boards in the loss.

The Lobos shot 45.8 percent from the floor and hit 4-of-6 from beyond the arc to take a 30-23 lead into the half.

In the second half, the Lobos converted on 15-of-17 from the charity stripe and found themselves down by five with 13 seconds remaining. A three-pointer by Toppert with seven seconds left and put-back by Daniel Faris forced overtime at 62-62.

In the first overtime, the Lobos were up three with 13.8 seconds remaining until Perry made 1-of-2 from the charity stripe. His miss was put-back by Walker to tie the game at 71-71 and force a second overtime.

In the second overtime, the Lobos scored the first five points to take a 78-73 lead. Toppert would add a late free throw, as the Lobos would prevail for the two-point win.
