Weapons Charges Dropped Against The Highlands Ranch Man

DENVER -- The Highlands Ranch man indicted on drug and explosives charges pleaded guilty to the drug charges in exchange for prosecutors dropping the weapons counts.Lance Migliaccio, 46, gave nearly 2,000 Ecstasy tablets and a 40mm round to a confidential informant in exchange for silencers and a machine gun, federal court records say.He pleaded guilty to five counts of possession with intent to distribute Ecstasy Wednesday afternoon.
A search warrant executed on Migliaccio's Highlands Ranch house Aug. 4 found a Heckler and Koch fully automatic firearm, C4 explosive, detonation cord, 40mm high explosive rounds, 40mm buckshot rounds and a kilo of what federal agents at first thought was heroin but turned out to be Ecstasy powder, records show. Agents also said they found 1,000 tablets of Ecstasy and steroids, court records show.Migliaccio faces a maximum of 100 years in prison and a $1 million fine but under the plea agreement is expected to be sentenced to five years in prison.The sentencing is scheduled for March.
