Love Today To Face Tomorrow

Three-Time Survivor Caresses Each Moment

POSTED: 2:50 pm MDT October 14, 2008

My name is Meg Weaver, and I am currently on treatment for my third diagnosis of breast cancer, which has now metastized.

With the wonderful help of my oncologist and staff at the Lancaster Cancer Center, I have been able to keep on living with the hope of tomorrow.

My initial diagnosis came in 1990 at the young age of 33 with three young children. I am now 51 and still enjoying life in the midst of fighting cancer.

Cancer has taught me to take each moment and caress it, whether it is smelling the flowers, holding my baby niece, petting my dog -- the list could go on and on.

Love is much deeper, laughter is much louder and the gift of today much more precious.

Yes, I have may tough days in the fight, but the prayers of my people, as I call them, allow me to reach up again and continue the fight to go on. My heavenly father is the source of my strength, and my husband and family are the source of my love.

Living life one day at a time is a gift that cannot be taken away from me. For me, living and loving my life one day at a time is the only way I can face tomorrow.

For those of you that are going through an initial fight with breast cancer: Hold on! There is much life to live today and tomorrow. May God bless and strengthen you one day at a time.
