Rocket's DogBlog - Marvelous Mondo

Chapter 33

February 1, 2012

Yo. Here's something I bet you didn't know about me. I'm a devoted Project Runway fan. What, you didn't think dogs watched anything besides Animal Planet? Huh. You'd be surprised what we like to watch on TV. Really surprised. Heh.

Anyhow, right now I'm a fan of Project Runway All Stars, and my favorite contestant is Denver's own Mondo Guerra . He's talented, that Mondo. I mean, did you catch his little black dress on the first episode? Brilliant.

Mondo stopped by the station yesterday for a quick interview on the 11AM news to talk about an upcoming event. Afterwards, he graciously agreed to a quick photo with me, but then he had to zip off to his next appearance. I was disappointed because I really wanted to ask him if he'd design a new cape for the CCI pups. I mean, seriously, could this baggy yellow thing be any duller? So boring, so yellow and it never fits well, no matter which dog is wearing it. No style, no zip, no pizzazz. If the Runway All Stars can design a gown for Miss Piggy (Episode 3) then by gum they can design a new, spiffy CCI cape, right? All Star judges, are you listening?

*sigh*

Anyhow, as I said, Mondo was at the studio to promote the Goodwill Fashion Show February 8 at the Exdo Event Center in Denver. According to Goodwill, "The fashion show will feature original designs using repurposed Goodwill clothing by students from Goodwill’s youth programs at Denver School of the Arts and CEC Middle College in Denver. Mondo will judge the fashion show along with fellow Colorado Project Runway alumni Fallene Wells and Julie Tierney." There will also be fabulous prizes!

Doesn't that sound like fun? I heard that last year's event was a blast and they expect this one to be even more fun. I'm begging Marianne to take me, but only if she can whip up a new cape for me. Perhaps something classic in black and white, elegantly tailored with satin lapels and a tasteful pocket for my poop bags.

Now that I think about it, Marianne's not much of a seamstress, though she's been known to wield a mean hot glue gun. Yikes, I'd better reconsider or I might end up with a hideous bedazzled cape. Glitter. Rhinestones. Feathers. Rickrack. Ack!

Mondo, help!

Chow for now!
