The hour-long presentation will feature two different specials: Our Favorite Places and Winter Adventures.
Starting at noon, Mike Nelson's Colorado: Favorite Places is a chance to see some of our favorite stories from the past and even check out a new adventure. During the half-hour show, Mike Nelson and his wife try fly fishing and ballooning. Mike and his family also check out the Strawberry Park Hot Springs near Steamboat Springs and they visit Rocky Mountain National Park with Colorado photographer John Fielder. 7NEWS anchor Anne Trujillo and her family give ziplining a try while 7Sports anchor Lionel Bienvenu and his family try sand sledding at Sand Dunes National Park. And 7NEWS anchor Mike Landess takes us on a beautiful motorcycle ride in Northern Colorado to a landmark restaurant -- Mishawaka.
At 12:30 p.m., Mike Nelson's Colorado: Winter Adventures takes viewers on a sleigh ride through the snow to a a backcountry cookhouse for dinner, on a free backcountry snowcat ride to the fresh powder in Copper's back bowls, on a scenic snowcat tour at Winter Park Ski Resort, dog sledding in Breckenridge and ice racing on Georgetown Lake. Viewers even learn how to take a lesson in the sport of curling.
