The free days are funded, in part, by the citizens of the metro area via the Science and Cultural Facilities District's 0.1% sales and use tax.
Visit the Denver Zoo for free on
January 11, January 12, January 23, February 3, February 4, February 21, November 4, Nov. 15 and Nov. 21.
The Denver Museum of Nature and Science will offer free admission on
January 28, February 11, April 21, May 12, June 3, July 1, July 21, August 11, August 19, September 8, October 6 and Dec. 9. Free admission is just to the museum -- it does not include special events, the IMAX theater or the Planetarium.
The Denver Art Museum offers free admission on the first Saturday of the month and other select days. The free admission days in 2013 are:
January 5, February 2, March 2, April 6, April 28 (Día de los Niños), May 4, June 1, July 6, August 3, September 7, October 5, November 2 and December 7.
Visit the Denver Botanic Gardens for free on
January 21, February 18, March 27, April 22, July 9, August 27, October 7 and November 2.
The Denver Botanic Gardens at Chatfield will also offer free admission on
January 4, February 1, March 1, April 5, May 3, June 7, August 2 and November 1.
The Denver Museum of Miniatures, Dolls and Toys has a different way of handling free days. It offers a "pay what you can" family free day on the first Sunday of every month. They suggest a donation of $1. Read more here.
The Denver Firefighters Museum is offering free admission on August 3.
Thanks to Target, the Children's Museum of Denver offers free admission on the first Tuesday of the month from 4 to 8 p.m. Learn more here.
The Colorado Railroad Museum offers free admission in 2013 on
January 5, March 2 and May 4.
