Tobi Watson loves the Western Art department at the Denver Art Museum.  That’s why she’s spent most of the seven plus years she’s been volunteering there working behind the scenes in that department.

“It’s wonderful to be in the museum and I feel useful,” she told Denver7.

Watson is one of nearly two dozen metro area volunteers being honored this February with gift cards from US Bank.

While Watson spends most of her time behind the scenes at the museum, she says there are countless volunteer opportunities for people at the museum and other organizations.  You just have to look for them.

“I think it’s wonderful to be a volunteer.  You get so much more out of it than you give.  It’s like a drug,” she said.

Watson says she has no plans to stop volunteering.  She says it’s too important of a part of her life.
