Every weekend, 7NEWS compiles a list of some family friendly events you might enjoy.   It must be fall in Colorado because corn mazes, pumpkin patches and haunted houses have all opened for the season.  Here are our picks for the 7 best things to do in Denver this weekend.

Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus: Circus Xtreme

What: It’s that time of year again.  Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus is back in town to amaze children of all ages.   Experience this family tradition and be mesmerized by performers from around the globe perform daring feats, spectacles of strength and thrills of wonder.

Where:  Denver Coliseum, 4600 Humboldt Street, Denver, Colo.

When:  Thursday – Sunday, various performance times

Harvest Farm Fall Festival & Corn Maze

What:  Get lost in the 10-acre corn maze at Harvest Farm.  And afterwards enjoy a multitude of family-friendly attractions including the hay bale maze, pig races, hay wagon rides, petting zoo, corn box wagons, corn cannons, pumpkin smash, evening campfires, food trucks, kettle corn and more.  It will be a full day of fun for the whole family.

Where: Harvest Farm, 4240 E. Country Road 66, Wellington, Colo.

When: Friday & Saturday: 10 a.m.-9 p.m.; and Sunday: 12 noon-7 p.m.  (Weekends through Oct. 31st)

Admission: $15 – Adults; $10 – Seniors; $13 – Kids 4-12 years; Kids 3 years and under are free.

Rocky Mountain Oktoberfest

What:  Traditional Munich Oktoberfest meets the Rocky Mountain brewery scene.  Celebrate Oktoberfest Colorado-style, complete with Oom-pah bands, bratwurst, and Colorado breweries.   Plus, live music, a kid’s area and other special activities will offer fun for the whole family throughout the weekend.

Where: Pepsi Center, Prius Lot, 1000 Chopper Circle, Denver, Colo.

When: Friday: 5 p.m.-11 p.m.; Saturday: 12 p.m.-11 p.m. and Sunday: 12 p.m.-5 p.m. 

Admission: General Admission - $15 (online); Kids 12 years and under are free.  (Ticket prices higher at event.)

Cider Days

What:  Celebrate Lakewood’s agricultural heritage with an entertaining mix of live performances, activities and delicious harvest treats.  Enjoy fresh pressed cider and a mouth-watering apple bake-off, as well as a vintage tractor pull and historic demonstrations.  Plus, live music, barrel train rides and an interactive kid’s play area will make this festival enjoyable for the whole family.   

Where: Lakewood Heritage Center, 801 S. Yarrow Street, Lakewood, Colo.

When:  Saturday & Sunday: 10 a.m.-5 p.m. 

Admission: $7 – Adults; $4 - Kids under 12 years

Pumpkin Harvest Festival

What:  You’ll find hot cider, scarecrows and pumpkins galore at the Four Mile Historic Park this weekend.  At this beloved annual event, you can build your own scarecrow, select the perfect pumpkin, dance to live music, make a craft and play carnival games.  And stay for the historic demonstrations and horse-drawn wagon rides, while enjoying favorite fall treats like cider, caramel apples and kettle corn.

When:  Saturday and Sunday: 10 a.m.-4 p.m. 

Admission: Free (Refreshments and some activities may charge a fee.)

Miner’s Blast

What: Touted as new and improved this year, this event promises to be loaded with kid’s activities!  Admission allows you to sling the flying gourd, get spooked in the haunted mine, lost in the straw maze, plus hayrides, inflatables, pedal cars, face painting, tractor pull, puppet show, petting zoo, crafts and more.  And each kiddo gets to pick out a free pumpkin on the way out.

Where: Coal Creek Park, 575 Kattell Street, Erie, Colo.

When: Saturday: 11 a.m.-5 p.m.

Admission: $10; Kids under 3 years are free.
