DENVER - 7NEWS and The Denver Post on Friday announced a content-sharing partnership with the goal of impactful reporting and investigative storytelling that will bring positive change in Colorado.
The combination of the two most-honored Colorado newsrooms brings new strength to the organizations' reporting projects, the leadership at both organizations said.
The Post and 7NEWS have a long history of combining efforts dating back to the 1960s, when the two newsrooms collaborated on ground-breaking election coverage in 1964.
The ability of both newsrooms to work together on major stories will create new angles and more in-depth reporting for readers and viewers.
"These newsrooms are a great match," says 7NEWS News Director Jeff Harris. "7NEWS and The Denver Post are the best at digging, investigating and reporting stories that will hold government accountable and make Colorado the best place possible. We have great plans for the partnership and they all revolve around finding and reporting stories that matter and reporting them on the biggest platform possible -- the goal is impact."
Gregory L. Moore, editor at The Post, said, "We are excited about this partnership and recognize the impact of our combined reporting power to make a difference in our community. This partnership truly reaffirms our commitment to relevant watchdog reporting and broadens our coverage in ways that will serve the Metro Denver community even better."
7NEWS Chief Meteorologist Mike Nelson and the 24/7 Weather Team will also work closely with The Denver Post in providing the latest on Colorado weather. Our 24/7 Weather forecasts can be seen daily in The Denver Post. The newsrooms will work to provide additional Spanish language content for the companies' Spanish-language platforms, VIVA Colorado and Azteca Colorado. Content will be translated for Spanish-speaking Coloradans.
