Jim Hooley

Jim Hooley

7NEWS Reporter

Jim Hooley's two decades in TV have taken him from the rust belt to the Rockies. Jim isn't going too far out on the limb when he says Colorado is "The Place to Be " -- that from a guy who lived in Cleveland for 10 years.

Jim grew up in the suburbs of New York City. After spending too many late nights as a professional drummer, he studied communications at the State University of New York.

His TV career has taken him from Rochester, along the shores of Lake Erie, to Milwaukee and Cleveland.

During his 20-plus years in broadcasting, Jim has been attacked by pit bulls, nearly strangled by the trunk of an elephant, and peed on by a lion. Somehow, he survived! He's also eaten "perogies" with President Bill Clinton but only people from Cleveland can appreciate that!

Before joining 7NEWS, Jim worked at KCNC as well as KOOL 105 and Mix 100 Radio. He spends time away from the station skiing or playing lacrosse with his two boys or playing Barbies with his little girl. Jim and his wife, Pam, live in Boulder.
