Bertha Lynn, anchorwoman of 7NEWS at 11 a.m., is one of Denver's most recognized and honored broadcast journalists. Bertha has been bringing the news home to Coloradans for 30 years.Bertha is very active in the Denver community. She currently serves as a trustee for Regis University and is a member of the Denver Art Museum's African American Outreach Task Force.Bertha served for six years on the Scientific and Cultural Facilities District Board, an appointment made by Gov. Roy Romer and served many years on the board of the Colorado Women's Foundation.
Bertha previously has served as a Director on the Boards of the Catholic Foundation of the Archdiocese of Denver, Mayor's Commission on Art Culture and Film, Children's Museum, National Jewish Hospital Women's Division, Denver Symphony Association, Safehouse for Battered Women, KCFR Public Radio, and National Conference of Christians and Jews.Bertha is an award-winning broadcast journalist. Awards include: Silver Circle Inductee National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences Heartland Chapter, Emmy's as Host of Metrobeat TV "People to Watch" -- Interview/Discussion Program, Best News Anchor and Best Morning News, President’s Award, Journalist of the Year for Broadcasting, and Grace Under Fire Award- Colorado Association of Black Journalists, Distinguished Communicator Award- University of Denver, Women's Leadership Circle Award- Girl Scouts Mile Hi Council, Woman of Distinction- Rocky Mountain News and Hyatt Hotels.Bertha is married to Larry Naves, a Denver district judge. They are the parents of three children.
