Weekend Morning Anchor, Reporter
Ana is thrilled to be back home in Colorado. Ana, who grew up in Denver and Littleton, joined the 7News team in July 2009 as weekend morning anchor and reporter."I love serving this community that means so much to me," she said. "This job is all about learning about the community and the world in which we live, meeting people, telling their stories, and providing information that makes a difference in people's lives."Prior to coming to Denver, Ana was an anchor and reporter at KHQ-TV in Spokane, Wash. In Spokane, Ana's work was recognized with awards from Community Oriented Policing Services (COPS) and Veterans of Foreign Wars organizations.
Ana earned her B.A. in communication from Washington State University and the Edward R. Murrow College of Communication. She also has a bachelor's degree in Spanish.Throughout her career, Ana has been involved in her community. She has served on the board of the American Cancer Society, also volunteering weekly in a Cancer Resource Center. Ana is passionate about curing cancer, since her brother, John, battled brain cancer at the age of 10.Ana has also been an ambassador for Special Olympics, participating in an annual cross-state relay to raise awareness and support for special needs athletes.When she's not working, Ana enjoys spending time with her husband, Ben, and her energetic golden retriever, Lola. She looks forward to attending some Broncos, Rockies, and Nuggets games. Her other hobbies include skiing, playing family games, reading, cooking and running. She's training to break three hours in a marathon.
