Thomas Hendrick joined TheDenverChannel.com in August 2007 keeping an eye on the site nights and weekends.A graduate of the University of Colorado, Thomas studied broadcast journalism but was forced to make a quick transition to print journalism when he joined 7NEWS.Thomas started his journalism career in at Palisade High School anchoring a live daily program about local news at the school.
Most of Thomas' professional experience has been working for free as an intern. His first internship KKCO 11 NEWS in Grand Junction while Thomas was just 15. He worked as a photographer and generally tried to make himself useful.Thomas also interned at KUSA in Denver and briefly interned with the Army in Washington D.C. producing Army News Watch.While at CU, Thomas created a student-produced television news program called "On the Inside" which focused on issues affecting students. The program lasted two seasons before being turned into a resume line.While at TheDenverChannel.com Thomas has blogged from the Chandler Grafner trial, covered visits by the presidential candidates and the Democratic National Convention. Best of all -- he gets paid.Thomas lives in Denver and can occasionally be seen navigating the ski slopes or standing in line at a movie premier. He also writes a mostly readable blog on his Web site.
