Jaclyn Allen became a member of the Channel 7 News Team in January 2007."For me, reporting is a chance to meet interesting people, tell their stories and have a front seat to history," Jaclyn says, "but it also gives me the opportunity to help those who need it most and make a difference in my community."Since then, she has covered major news events affecting Coloradans, including the Windsor Tornado, the 2007 World Series and the Democratic National Convention in Denver.
During the 2007 wildfires that ravaged the San Diego area, she traveled to California to report from the front lines and from Qualcomm Stadium.In 2009, she was honored by CABJ with the Scribes of Excellence Award in the TV News category.Before coming to Denver, Jaclyn was a weekend anchor and reporter at KXII in Sherman, Texas.She then moved to KJRH in Tulsa, Oklah., where she covered the Oklahoma City Bombing state trial and the largest manhunt in Sooner history.The Oklahoma Chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists recognized her with awards for outstanding feature stories and spot news reporting.Jaclyn graduated summa cum laude from the University of Oklahoma with degrees in journalism and music.She worked as a research assistant and associate producer at KOCO-TV in Oklahoma City while in college.
