Music can provide a universal bond.
It connects people where other forms of communication might fail.
It happens every time the Country Ole Timers perform.

Daniel Barnes a Florian Supercynski could be getting paid to pick their guitars and sing, but they enjoy volunteering to entertain.

"There's nothing else I would rather be doing that what I just did out there today," said Florian.

Florian and Daniel visit five Denver area assisted living centers every month just to play for residents for a couple of hours.

"I just think it's a wonderful thing. This is what you call heroes in my opinion, people who donate their time and their talents," said long-time friend C.C. Collier.

"I have had a good life, it is pay back time for me to do something for somebody else," said Florian.

The only pay the men get or need is the smiles they see in the crowd.

"All of a sudden they look up and they start getting into the beat and it's really a good feeling," said Daniel.

The Country Ole Timers have done this for more than four years, and they hope to have many more encores.

"I think we get more out of it than they do," Florian says with a chuckle.
