For more than 40 years, the Singing Youth of Denver has pleased audiences and enriched lives. It is a ministry of the Denver area Churches of Christ.

Singing Youth of Denver provides teens fellowship, friendship and song.

"I enjoy being in SYD, because I have an opportunity to become friends with other Christians my age who are all around the city," said Clark Woodfin.

When the director of SYD retired, Lee Cole took on the challenge for free.

"I volunteered for five years until they find a real director - so that's my role," said Cole. He spends hours each week, organizing rehearsals, concerts and out-of-state trips for the group. He even got his commercial driver's license, so he could drive the tour bus. Cole said the kids are worth it, "It's more than singing. We talk about leadership, we talk about being responsible citizens, it involves a whole gamut of things."
