When a baby dies, a family's life is turned upside down. This week's 7Everyday Hero offers some comfort to the grieving family.Sara Greer knits and crochets clothes for families who have lost babies prematurely. The clothes are so tiny, it is often heartbreaking. But they serve as a lasting memento for a family in mourning.Greer has been bringing the baby items to Aurora Medical Center for five years, as part of “Care Wear,” a nationwide group of volunteers who hand-make baby clothes for hospitals. She spends 40 hours per week, making clothes for people she will never meet.
"She volunteers her own time. We never have to ask her to show up - she just appears with all these beautiful outfits and blankets for our families - and they all love them, and so do we," said Laura Ross, a registered nurse at Aurora Medical Center."I had a miscarriage last week and it's my first one - and before that I was just doing this because it was what God wanted me to do. Now, I have more understanding," said Greer.
