7Everyday Hero Takes In Abused And Neglected Dogs

This week’s 7Everyday Hero is busy caring for a whole litter of puppies. In fact, even her office has gone to the dogs.

Sharon Massey volunteers her time at the Retriever Rescue of Colorado. In the last few years, RROC has placed more than 900 dogs in good homes.

Massey and her husband foster dozens of dogs each year. But they don’t just house the dogs; they take care of them—even bringing them to work.

“She has the biggest heart in the entire world. If there is a litter of puppies in need, she’ll be right there,” said fellow volunteer Lara Bundy. Many of the dogs the Masseys care for are victims of abuse or neglect.

“She cares. Every adoption she cries, because she doesn’t want to let go of the dogs,” said Chet Kelley, a RROC client.
