DENVER --
There's a non-profit in town that's all the buzz across the country. It's called Adaptive Adventures. It's a non-profit that thrives thanks to its volunteers, including this week's 7Everyday Hero, James Valentine.
It can be frightening for any of us to try something outside our comfort zone. But at Adaptive Adventures everyone is put at ease so they can reach their potential. Adaptive Adventures provides sports and recreation opportunities for people with physical disabilities. The nonprofit provides countless opportunities for people of all ages, which requires a lot of volunteers. Volunteers like James Valentine. He's volunteered for six years.
"There are no lousy days when you're with them. You're doing something for somebody that really appreciates it," said James.
James especially enjoys working with the hand-cycle program. He is known for doing anything necessary to see others excel, including building bike racks for hand cycles so the participant can carry their wheel chair with them.
"You've got to keep those things going, so they're ready to go the day of a camp. The camp could be in Fort Collins or Colorado Springs," said James.
