Health care executive Donna Lynne has been confirmed to be Colorado's next lieutenant governor.

The Senate unanimously approved her appointment to fil the vacant job Wednesday. All that remains is for Lynne to take the oath of office.

Lynne talked about her ideas to make government more efficient during her final hearing Wednesday. Lynne told senators she'd work to improve government efficiency. Gov. John Hickenlooper talked up Lynne's experience - about 20 years in government service for New York City, and 20 years in the private sector.

Lynne's last job was as the executive vice president of the Kaiser Foundation Health Plan, Inc. and Kaiser Foundation Hospitals.

In addition to serving as Lieutenant Governor, she will also serve as Chief Operating Officer to direct state operations.

Former Lt. Gov. Joe Garcia announced last Novemberthat he was leaving his job to become president of Western Interstate Commission for Higher Education. His last day was in April.
