An 83-year-old man with dementia has been missing from Wheat Ridge since Friday evening.
Dale Weehunt walked away from his house on Marshall Street at about 6 p.m., said Jim Lorentz with the Wheat Ridge Police Department.
Weehunt is 6 feet tall and weighs about 170 pounds. He has gray hair and brown eyes and was last seen wearing jeans, a blue shirt and a brown coat.
Weehunt was headed to the Walmart at 44th and Sheridan Boulevard, and may have asked someone there for directions to King Soopers, police said.
Lorentz told 7NEWS police are now looking into the possibility that he may have gone, or be trying to go, to Texas.
Weehunt’s roommate says he suffers from early-onset dementia and possibly Alzheimer’s Disease.
