Motorcyclist dies after crash involving sedan in Aurora

AURORA, Colo. -- A motorcyclist died after crashing into a car on Wednesday evening, according to an official with the Aurora Police Department. 

A motorcycle driver was reportedly going westbound on Quincy Avenue at a high speed when a sedan turned on eastbound Quincy from South Genoa Street and that's when the motorcycle crashed into the car. The motorcycle then burst into flames, according to a witness statement provided to the Aurora Police Department. 

Witnesses also told police the motorcycle did not have a front headlight on.

Paramedics performed CPR on the man and took him to the hospital, but was pronounced dead at the time of arrival.

The driver of the car remained at the scene and was cooperating with investigators. 

Quincy Avenue was closed between Himalaya and Flanders due to the crash.

The names of the people involved were not released by police.
